Thais living near the border with Cambodia flee to shelters

Residents of Thai provinces, located on the border with Cambodia, sought shelter away from their homes this Tuesday (9), as clashes between the two countries spread along the disputed border region.

People wearing winter clothing received medical attention and queued up to get water at shelters in Buriram and Sisaket provinces.

With each side blaming the other for the start of fighting that resumed on Monday, it was unclear how or if the fragile ceasefire in July could be restored.

Both countries said they had evacuated hundreds of thousands of people.
