Tradition, music and local products liven up three days of the Aljezur Christmas Fair

The Aljezur Christmas Fair returns to Espaço Multiusos for its 24th edition, between the 12th and 14th of December, maintaining the artisanal spirit that distinguishes it in the region. Tertúlia – Associação Socio-cultural de Aljezur, the entity organizing the event, emphasizes that this initiative remains faithful to the philosophy that has guided it since the first edition: “doing it with your hands, the time dedicated to the details and the proximity between those who create and those who visit”.

According to the association, the Fair brings together local artisans and independent creators who preserve traditional techniques, while exploring new approaches. Tertúlia describes this meeting as a space “far from mass consumption and close to objects with soul and history”, inviting the public to discover “slowly, what is best done here”.

Over the three days, visitors will be able to find a wide variety of works, from contemporary ceramics and carved wood to natural fibers, handmade candles, creative jewelry, basketry, weaving, leather objects, footwear, illustration, handcrafted instruments, textile pieces and upcycling proposals. The offer also includes regional products and delicacies that celebrate the local gastronomic identity.

The musical program proposes a journey through the sounds of the world, with tabla performances, sea songs, choir meetings, folk music, gypsy rock, groove and Brazilian rhythms, composing what the organization defines as “a cultural mosaic that celebrates the diversity of the region and the talent of its communities”.

The Fair also includes creative workshops, demonstrations of traditional crafts, story sessions and workshops, with activities dedicated to children. The food and drink area maintains the usual offering, with homemade snacks, sweets, hot drinks and the gastronomic stars of the season: hot chocolate and traditional mulled wine.

Aimed at those looking for original gifts and an authentic environment, away from large shopping centers, Tertúlia reinforces that it is in this space that you will find objects “with artistic value, local identity and special care in the way they are thought and produced”.

The Aljezur Christmas Fair 2024 is organized by r, with the support of the Municipality of Aljezur and the Parish Council, in addition to the sponsorship of dozens of local entities, including Frank Lehmann, Goose Brokers, SW Places, Café Ao Largo, Oralzur, Marcela Properties, Feiteirinha, Museu da Batata Doce, A Teia, Aljezur Animal Centre, Casa de Alva, Mercearia da Vila, FF Solar, Papelaria Alma e Sorte, Cannabis Store Amsterdam Lagos, Washout, Pizaria dal Monello, Pont’ a Pé, Provenda II and 100% Migó.
