Czech President Pavel openly criticizes the candidate for the Minister of the Environment. A significant dispute in the nominations

Czech President Petr Pavel expressed reservations about Filip Turk, proposed for the post of minister in the new government. Even so, it will allow him to defend himself if he requests a meeting.

Czech President Petr Pavel insists on his reservations about Filip Turek, the honorary president of the Motoristi sebe party, becoming a member of the new Czech government. He emphasized that his view is long-term and it would be difficult for anything to change it. Nevertheless, he wants to give the Turk an opportunity to defend himself, and if he asks for a meeting, Pavel will accept him. He said this on Wednesday during a visit to the Liberec region, reports TASR in Prague.

“I will definitely give him the opportunity to tell me what’s on his mind, I will listen to him. However, my objections to him are not of a momentary or personal nature, but long-term. I really have a rather big problem with how Filip Turek approaches facts, law and rules for a long time until today, and I can hardly imagine that anything could change this long-term view of mine. Nevertheless, I want to give him the opportunity to have the opportunity to defend himself,” said Pavel. According to the president, when they will meet will depend on Turk’s state of health and when he requests a meeting.

The future government and the Turk

Based on their agreement, the parties of the future government wanted to nominate a Turk to the head of the environment department. On Monday, the unofficial candidate for this post was supposed to meet with the president. However, he excused himself from the meeting due to health reasons, he is hospitalized for a herniated disc. However, on Tuesday, the new Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš finally brought Pavlov an official proposal for the members of his government, which did not include Turko’s name. According to Motorists, this is only so that the establishment of a new government is not delayed. The chairman of the party, Petr Macinka, who should temporarily manage the department, emphasized that they are not looking for a replacement for Turk and that he himself only wants to “guard” the ministry for him.

Appointment of a new government

Prague Castle announced on Tuesday that the president will appoint Babiš’s government on Monday next week.
