Ried im Innkreis/Schärding – After a vault collapsed during construction work in Schärding, in which two construction workers died in September 2024, both the builder and the person carrying out the work appeared before the Ried im Innkreis regional court on Wednesday. Both pleaded not guilty to the charge of gross negligent homicide. The questioning of the defendants, who repeatedly contradict each other, lasts until the afternoon. The penalty if convicted is up to three years in prison.
