Electric cars are no more dangerous for pedestrians than conventional cars


They are quieter, heavier on average and accelerate extremely quickly – a combination that could potentially make electric cars more dangerous for pedestrians than cars with combustion engines. But the fears are unfounded, as a current analysis in Great Britain shows: purely electrically powered cars are in no way more likely to be involved in accidents with pedestrians than petrol or diesel vehicles.
