The deputy Glauber Braga (PSOL-RJ) made the news this Tuesday (9) when it occupied the table of the Lower House of the National Congress against the approval of the dosimetry bill and was forcefully removed from the place by legislative police officers. The act took place during a vote in the plenary for .

The deputy is accused of lacking parliamentary decorum when he expelled Gabriel Costenaro, a member of the MBL (Movimento Brasil Livre), from the Chamber, with pushes and kicks, in April 2024.

Braga was born in Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro, and studied Law. He has served as a federal deputy since 2007. He has been in Congress since 2011 – he was elected for his first term in 2010. At 43 years old, he has already been the protagonist of other tumultuous episodes, it is no coincidence that he is known for his firm interventions in legislative debates and for his oppositions on topics such as the economy, public security and social rights.

One of the most recent events involving Braga was when, in April, he slept on the floor of the plenary after promising a hunger strike. The episode took place in April this year. This Tuesday, before being removed from the venue, he even said that he would remain in the National Congress until the end of the process.

“I will remain here calmly, with complete tranquility, exercising my legitimate political right not to accept an amnesty for a group of coup plotters,” he said. Glauber even filed an appeal with the CCJ to try to stop the process, alleging “lack of just cause” and ““disproportionality or unreasonableness of the penalty for revocation of mandate”, however, the request was not granted.

Braga has been a member of PSOL since 2015 and is focused on the left-wing agenda. In 2021, he even launched a pre-candidacy for the presidency, but withdrew his name after internal negotiations that prioritized support for Lula.
