According to the Fire Department, calls were recorded for 46 tree falls.

Winds caused by the extratropical cyclone that passes along the southern Brazilian coast cause damage in the state of São Paulo. According to the Fire Department, calls were recorded for 46 tree falls between midnight and 6:30 am this Wednesday (10). Five calls for floods and two calls for landslides were also recorded. According to the Secretariat of Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics (Semil), there are locations that recorded winds exceeding 60 km/h.

Also according to Semil, the Urban Parks Board decided to temporarily close 12 parks due to gusts of wind. The measure is taken when winds exceed 40 km/h or there is a risk of falling trees or branches. In a statement, Semil justified the measure as a way of “guaranteeing the safety and integrity of visitors, workers and biodiversity, since severe weather conditions increase the risk of accidents, falling trees and instability on trails.”
