Apple cider vinegar for swelling

It is also slowly but surely starting to be used for cleaning, as it has disinfectant effects and absorbs unpleasant odors. So apple cider is such a universal household helper, similar to baking soda.

Apple cider vinegar can help with swelling thanks to its anti-inflammatory and drainage properties. Sometimes swelling can be associated with water retention in the body. This can happen for example excessive consumption of salt or lack of drinking regime. In this case, it is ideal to make a diluted one, i.e. mix a teaspoon of vinegar with a glass of water.

Alternatively, you can make apple cider vinegar foot bath or compresses. You prepare a water bath by pouring hot water into the lavatory and adding apple cider vinegar. The ratio is ideal 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water. If you would prefer a poultice on your feet, it is possible to soak a small towel or cloth in water with vinegar, and then apply it to your feet or other sore spot. In this case it applies 1 teaspoon of vinegar per 1 liter of water.

How to prevent swelling in winter

Although swelling may seem to be a major concern in the summer, many people suffer from it in the winter as well. Have you ever gone for a Christmas walk in the snowy countryside and after about an hour your feet started to freeze and you thought your shoes were tighter than when you left the house. That’s why it’s really important to wear warm and sufficiently loose shoes in winter, drink a lot of water and exercise regularly. They also help with swelling special stockings or compression underwear.
