Ten passengers were taken to the hospital from the scene of the bus accident, which ended up in a ditch and which happened on Thursday behind the village of Fiľakovské Kľačany in the direction of Lučenec (Lučenec district). According to preliminary medical reports, two of the cases involved serious injuries and eight people suffered minor injuries. TASR was informed about this by the spokeswoman of the Banská Bystrica regional police, Nikola Žabková.
“Today, in the early hours of the morning, a bus accident occurred outside the village of Fiľakovské Kľačany in the direction of Lučenec. The fifty-six-year-old driver drove off the road for unknown reasons, whereupon the bus overturned on its side“, described Žabková.
According to preliminary information, there were supposed to be 25 passengers in the bus at the time of the accident. The driver was subjected to a breath test for alcohol and also an orientation test for the presence of narcotic and psychotropic substances, which ended with a negative result. Documenting the accident required partial traffic restrictions.
“The exact cause of the accident, as well as all the surrounding circumstances, are the subject of its further investigation, which was taken over by the Lučensk investigator. An expert from the road transport department was also present at the scene during the documentation of the accident,” added Žabková.
