FC Haka, one of Finland’s most iconic clubs, saw one of the stands at its stadium, Tehtaan Kentta, completely destroyed by fire last weekend, just two months after relegation to the second tier. Authorities confirmed that the incident originated from an act of vandalism committed by a 15-year-old teenager.
According to local radio Yle, three minors were there when the fire started. The young man admitted to the police that he set fire to an object that ended up starting the fire, causing damage not only to the bench but also to the pitch.
As he is a minor, the teenager will not face criminal consequences, but he could be held financially responsible for the damage caused to the Valkeakoski club’s infrastructure.
