Deputy leader of the government in Congress, deputy Dorinaldo Malafaia (PDT-AP) stated that the president of the Chamber, (Republicanos-PB), became a “hostage of the ultra-right” in order to maintain his command of the House and that he has outlined a set of measures to benefit Bolsonarists.
Dorinaldo was one of the parliamentarians who tried to negotiate the Presidency seat, before the parliamentarian was forcibly removed by the Legislative Police on Motta’s orders.
“The president [Motta] first he gave command and ordered the plenary to be emptied of technicians and advisors, after Glauber took over the chair”, he states.
The parliamentarian says that, based on this, a transition team was formed with Motta by him and his colleagues Célia Xakriabá (PSOL-MG), Rogério Correia (PT-MG), Sâmia Bomfim (PSOL-SP), Alencar Santana (PT-SP) and Carlos Veras (PT-PE), first secretary of the Chamber.
The commission was trying to convince Glauber to leave Motta’s seat when, around ten minutes later, the president of the Chamber ordered the seat to be vacated immediately.
“We were surprised by the speed of taking an extreme measure when there were negotiators around Glauber, negotiators who were also attacked”, he says.
He attributes Motta’s decision to (PL). “The president is a hostage of the ultra-right. Every agenda includes the ultra-right. Not only what happened with Glauber, but also the set of measures that convinced Motta to adopt the agenda”, argues the deputy leader of the government in Congress.
Among the examples, Dorinaldo cites the dosimetry project, approved in the early hours of this Wednesday (10) by the plenary, in addition to safety guidelines.
“The progression at home to one-sixth of the sentence is a step backwards. It is a contradiction in relation to what we voted for in the Antifaction project”, he says. “He [Motta] voted to dismantle the Antifaction project weeks later.”
