The president of , Edinho Silva, issued a call this Wednesday (10) for demonstrations against the approval of a bill that reduces the sentences of those convicted of attacks against democracy, including former president Jair Bolsonaro. The protests are scheduled for this Sunday, the 14th.
In addition to the dosimetry of penalties, the PT is calling on activists to protest against the approval of the time frame. On social media, he said that the idea is to protect democracy and the people’s rights.
“This week, Congress approved two projects that represent very serious setbacks. In the Chamber, they approved the reduction of sentences for those who planned and tried to carry out a coup against democracy and against the popular will expressed at the polls,” he said.
In the video, Edinho recalled that the convictions followed due legal process and that coup plotters planned the murder of the president (PT), his vice, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and the minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) Alexandre de Moraes.

When calling for protests, Edinho calls the time frame disrespectful to history and the Constitution.
