The PT leader in the Chamber, Lindbergh Farias (RJ), stated in the early hours of this Thursday (11) that he will file a writ of mandamus in STF (Supreme Federal Court) against the decision of the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies who rejected the revocation of the mandate of Carla Zambelli (PL-SP).
They were . For her to lose her mandate, at least 257 parliamentarians were needed.
In Lindbergh’s opinion, the Chamber should not have opened the possibility of voting on Zambelli’s situation, but merely determined the impeachment.
“The Supreme Court’s decision is very clear. In minister Alexandre de Moraes’ decision in sentencing deputy Carla Zambelli, he cites article 55 of the Constitution, which states that the Chamber’s Board must remove [da Zambelli]. We’ve been saying this for six months. It wasn’t supposed to go to the CCJ (Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Commission) [nem a plenário]. President Hugo Motta ended up creating a problem for himself”, declared Lindbergh.
“So I am filing a writ of mandamus so that the Supreme Court decides that the president of the Chamber has to obey the court decision,” he added. “We at PT are entering [quinta] with this writ of mandamus. For us it is inconceivable that there is a group of fugitives.”
Zambelli was sentenced to ten years in prison for her involvement in the invasion of the CNJ (National Council of Justice) system. Since July, the deputy has been imprisoned in Italy, where she traveled after her conviction.
The PL leader in the Chamber, Sóstenes Cavalcante (RJ), told CNN Brazil “being accustomed” to judicializations “by the left” when they “lose the vote”.
