With the face of Donald Trump in a dollar billand a sunset in the background, the motto reads ‘Discover life in America‘(‘Unlock life in America’). It is the new program of the US Government to reactivate the call ‘Golden Visa’ (golden visa) that offers a permanent residence permit in the country for those who can contribute more than a million dollarsaccording to the official website of the program, which bears the president’s name: ‘The Trump Gold Card’.
The campaign, which has been brewing for months in the White Housearrives the day after the announcement that the Administration will carry out an exhaustive scrutiny of the social networks of those who want to enter the United States as tourists. The objective, in theory, is to ensure that the visitor is not a threat to the country but where that line is drawn is uncertain for a Government that has repressed protests against their domestic policies (immigration repression) and international policies (support for Israel in the Gaza war).
How it works
The golden visa requires contributing $15,000 non-refundable to start the process and, if the candidate is admitted, up to 1 million dollars to obtain the card that grants status equivalent to a permanent residence visa. The program promises expedited processing that, in most cases, would be resolved in a matter of weeks.
Companies may also request the Corporate Gold Card to sponsor employees, with a cost of $15,000 per application and 2 million per worker approved.
The initiative, formalized by executive order in September, is designed—according to the Trump Administration—to raise billions and prioritize the entry of entrepreneurs, investors and professionals with high economic potential. Democrats and pro-immigration organizations denounce that it creates a preferential route for the richest and question its legal fit.

The program incorporates a second level: the Platinum Cardwhich allows you to reside up to 270 days a year in the United States without paying taxes on income obtained abroad. Its price amounts to 5 million dollarsin addition to the initial procedure. For now there is only a waiting list and the Government warns that the amount could change.
Meanwhile, in addition to those who enter with a tourist visa, also visa-exempt visitors (such as Spaniards and other EU citizens) who enter with an authorization THIS They must allow the review of their activity on social networks in the last five years. The Government thus incorporates the networks as “mandatory information” in the application, used by citizens of 42 countries — in addition to the EU, they include Israel, Australia, Japan, Qatar and Chile. He THISwhat does it cost 40 dollarshas doubled its price in recent months and usually has validity of two yearsallows multiple entries with stays of up to 90 days.
