The official farewell took place in the Prague crematorium in Strašnice. The start was set at 2:30 p.m., it ended a few minutes after 3 p.m. Fans of the well-known presenter could watch the ceremony live on the screens in front of the building. Libor Bouček led the mourners through a farewell.
The fact that something is happening with Hezucký has been registered by the listeners of Europe 2 for some time. At first his voice changed significantly, later he disappeared from the broadcast and then he came to the podcast taping in a wheelchair.
The popular presenter is survived by his wife Nikola and their only son Oliver, who will be 6 years old on December 20. On Sunday, the moment came when Hezucký’s wife decided to reveal what problems he was struggling with. According to her, it was a tumor of unknown origin discovered at a time when it had already quietly metastasized to the liver. Patrik underwent aggressive treatment and until the last days they believed that he would make it.
“I was with him. And his best friend Milan was there too. Patrik opened his eyes and looked at us. With love. I caressed his face and whispered that I love him very much, that we are with him and that he will never be alone. And then he breathed his last. He left peacefully. With a satisfied expression on his face. This is how I want the world to remember him. As a man who fought, loved and believed in life until the last moment,” wrote widow Nikola.
