Boulos:Government wants to approve 6×1 in the first semester – 12/12/2025 – Brasília Hoje

The Minister of the General Secretariat, , said that the proposal to reduce the 6×1 working day that will have government support will be the one that progresses most quickly in Congress, and that the intention is to approve the change in working hours in the first half of 2026. Several proposals are being processed in both Legislative Houses, and more than one has declared support in the government.

Until now, members of the management had already stated that the government would support any proposal that met three prerequisites considered basic for PT management: a maximum of 40 hours per week (today it is 44 hours), an end to the 6×1 scale and no salary reduction.

According to the minister, the intention is for the change in the journey to be approved in the first half of 2026.

“We need to have, and we are waiting for, a more secure legal assessment of whether by bill it is possible, in a firm and guaranteed manner, to reach these three issues. It is logical that, if it is possible by bill, it is easier to approve a bill than a PEC,” he told journalists.

One of the main proposals supported by the government is the rapporteur bill by deputy Leo Prates (PDT-BA), whose text was declared supported by the government. It proposes a reduction from 44 hours to 40 hours, and the weekly working hours to 5×2.

The PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution), authored by congresswoman Erika Hilton (-SP) together with other parliamentarians, seeks a greater reduction, to 36 hours per week and 4×3 working hours.

“Look, were they able to approve dosimetry in two hours? Are they saying they will approve it in the Senate next week? If you want, approve the end of the scale, at least in a semester.

Other proposals are being processed in both Houses in parallel. On Wednesday (10), the CCJ (Constitution and Justice Commission) of the Senate supported what the PT administration defends, but without agreeing with the government. However, the stance of Boulos and other ministers was to support the advance, as it complied with the established requirements.

Last week, the government spoke out against another proposal, reported by deputy Luiz Gastão (PSD-CE), which proposed to reduce working hours, but this contradicts the points defended by the government.
