Paris Saint-Germain is experiencing days of apprehension before the big decision of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, scheduled for December 17th, in Qatar. What happened to Dembélé?
The Parisian number 10 has been facing a complicated sequence. After missing games in November due to a left calf injury, the French striker was again out of action last week, this time due to a strong virus. The illness took him out of the clash against Athletic Bilbao in the Champions League (10th) and also from this Saturday’s match (13th) against Metz, in Ligue 1.

Will Dembele play in the Intercontinental final?
According to the latest medical bulletin released by PSG this Friday (12), Dembélé has already resumed individual training at the Poissy Training Center. However, the medical department is treating the situation with extreme caution. The technical committee considers it “premature” to guarantee their presence among the starters in Wednesday’s final.
PSG, champion of the 2024/25 Champions League, is already guaranteed the decision and awaits Flamengo, who beat Pyramids 2-0.
If Dembélé is unable to play, the tendency is for Luis Enrique to maintain the attacking trio with Kvaratskhelia, Gonçalo Ramos (or Barcola) and Désiré Douéwho has been gaining space in the starting team.
Dembelé’s numbers for the season
- 13 games
- 3 goals
- 3 assists
