Although we most often buy classic Atlantic cod, more and more often in stores you can find its cousin – black cod, also called melanoma. This is a fish that delights not only with its taste, but also with its nutritional values.

Black cod occurs in the cold waters of the North Atlantic, mainly around Iceland, Norway and the North Sea. It is a large schooling fish that can reach up to one meter in length. Dark scales and characteristic coloration its snout makes it easy to recognize and hence its popular name. However, it is not the appearance, but the taste and nutritional properties that make melanoma more and more popular in Polish homes.
