Fog with visibility of 50 to 200 meters may form throughout Slovakia on Saturday as well. Meteorologists issued for all districts first level warning. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) informed about it on its website.
“The occurrence of fog with the above visibility is common at the given time of year and in the areas, but it can cause damage of a smaller scale,” warned the meteorologists. According to them, the reduced visibility represents potential danger to traffic activities. Fog should also be expected in the following days. The warning is tentatively issued until Monday (December 15) afternoon.
The Slovak Road Administration (SSC) also warns about the fog on its website zjazdnost.sk. Fog with visibility from 200 to 100 m limits the visibility of drivers in most of Slovakia. Fog with visibility up to 50 m occurs in the area of Skalice, on Kysucie in the locality of Svrčinovec and in the east of Slovakia in the area of Holčíkovce, near the Domaša water reservoir.
However, the SSC also warns of ice on the Vrchslatina and Látky-Prašivá mountain passes. On the road I/14 – HP Šturec, rocks are falling on the road in a certain section.
