Actor Peter Greene, from “The Mask” and “Pulp Fiction”, has died at the age of 60. The body was found in his apartment in New York, United States, on Friday (12). The information was confirmed by the artist’s manager, Gregg Edwards, to the portal Deadline. The cause of death was not revealed.
To the North American press, the artist’s manager explained how he got to the actor’s body. “I was informed that there had been music playing in Greene’s apartment for over 24 hours,” he said.
The businessman also said that he had spoken to the actor at the beginning of the week and the death came as a surprise. Peter Greene is survived by a sister and a brother.
CAREER
Peter Greene was born in Montclair, New Jersey, on October 8, 1965.
He began his acting career at age 20 while living in New York. During his career, the actor built a career in cinema and television, with emphasis on playing criminal and villainous characters.
In 1993, Peter Greene starred in the film “Clean, Shaven”, in which he played a man with schizophrenia suspected of murder. The performance was praised by the newspaper’s critics The New York Times. The outlet stated that he transformed the role “into an intensely anguished and volatile character, someone who didn’t even need to cut himself to get the public’s attention.”
In 1994, he played Dorian in “The Mask”, starring . In the same year, he starred in another emblematic character, Zed, in “Pulp Fiction”, by Quentin Tarantino.
Both roles helped Greene cement his image as an actor who played dark characters excellently.
In addition to leading roles, the actor had a notable role in “The Usual Suspects”, in which he played Redfoot, a fence who provides information to a group of criminals about a robbery at a jeweler that ends with the death of the victim.
In “Training Day”, Jeff played, a detective shot by Alonzo Harris, character from in the context of an attempt to cover up the cold-blooded murder of a former narcotics division agent.
