Jamie Lee Curtis has announced that she will be taking a long break from the internet and social media over the Christmas period. The Hollywood star is said to treat herself to a digital detox every holiday and devote herself to her relatives and friends consciously without constantly scrolling through the phone screen.
At the premiere of her new film, Ella McCay spoke to E! News said: “I’m going to do a really long, nice digital detox. I’m going to do a digital detox and spend some time without the internet and social media.” The actress, known for the horror series Halloween, expressed her excitement that Australia has started to protect children from the dangers of social networks.
As of December 10, Australia has banned the use of social media for children under the age of sixteen. “It’s amazing that they’re doing it. I support it 110 percent, so I need to practice what I preach.” she added. The Oscar-winning actress also explained that she only uses social media for her work and to support other people’s work, but now she needs a break. “I need to rest a bit. So at the end of the year I’m letting it be,” the star added.
