UGT expects a new stance from the Government at the meeting on the labor package

After the general strike that brought thousands to Parliament against the proposed change to the labor law, the Minister of Labor called the UGT to a meeting next Tuesday. The CGTP was not convened.

Speaking to the Público newspaper, the deputy general secretary of the trade union central expects a new phase of negotiation without red lines and that all matters can be changed. It also wants to begin a negotiation period without immutable guidelines.

The relationship between unions and minister Maria do Rosário Ramalho has been deteriorating. They went so far as to accuse the holder of the portfolio of not knowing how to negotiate and of wanting to impose the labor package.
