CGU Minister wants international cooperation against crime – 12/13/2025 – Panel

The Minister of the (Comptroller General of the Union), will defend, next Monday (15), at the 11th Conference of States Parties to the Anti-Agency Convention, international cooperation to face public crimes.

The minister leaves this Saturday (13) for Doha, Qatar, where he will lead the Brazilian delegation at the event. He must also present Brazilian transparency, governance and anti-corruption initiatives, such as advances in the Transparency Portal and a resolution, co-authored with Namibia, aimed at combating corruption associated with environmental crimes.

Carvalho will also defend the Brazilian government’s strategy to combat organized crime and argue that, as it is a transnational phenomenon, international coordination is necessary to close spaces for organizations to operate and prevent the infiltration of organized crime into global public institutions.

More than 180 delegations from countries and international organizations are expected to participate in the conference, which will be held between the 15th and 19th. The event will also include members of the AGU (Attorney General’s Office), the Ministry of Justice, Itamaraty, Coaf and the Federal Police, in addition to the TCU (Federal Audit Court).
