Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs,
  • 250 g of wheat flour,
  • 300 ml of milk
  • 50 g butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar,
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda,
  • half a teaspoon of baking powder,
  • half a teaspoon of cardamom or cinnamon (optional)
  • a pinch of salt
  • oil for frying
  • powdered sugar for sprinkling.

Preparation method:

  1. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients: flour, spices, baking powder and baking soda.
  2. In a separate bowl, use a whisk to mix the egg yolks, melted butter, milk and sugar.
  3. Combine the ingredients from both bowls and mix with a whisk.
  4. Beat the egg whites with a mixer and add to the dough.
  5. Heat the aebleskiver pan well on the stove and pour a little oil or butter into each indentation.
  6. Fill the cavities ¾ full with dough.
  7. When the bottom of the fritters is set, turn them over with a stick and fry until golden brown.

Serve Advent pancakes sprinkled with powdered sugar with your favorite additions.
