They confirmed, this Saturday (13), in a statement on X, the death of Raed Saad, identified as head of the weapons production headquarters of the and one of the main architects of the October 7th attacks. “Sa’ad was one of the last remaining high-ranking veteran militants in the and a close associate of Marwan Issa, the deputy head of Hamas’ military wing,” the statement said. “He held several leadership positions and was a central figure in the organization’s military leadership,” it added.

The operation, carried out in Gaza City, targeted a vehicle carrying the commander. In a joint statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said they ordered the action in response to an attack using an explosive device against the Army that occurred earlier.

According to the IDA, Raed Saad, “was responsible for the deaths of many soldiers through explosive devices manufactured by Hamas weapons production units during the war,” and in recent months “has played a leading role in Hamas’ military wing, including direct involvement in the violation of the ceasefire agreement.”

On its Telegram channel, Hamas classified the attack as a “crime” that targeted a “civilian car” west of Gaza city. The group said the action confirms that Israel deliberately seeks to “undermine and frustrate the ceasefire agreement through the escalation of its continued violations.”

The Palestinian movement blamed what it called the “fascist occupation government” for the consequences of the attack and the systematic violations of the agreement, citing attacks against leaders and activists, in addition to maintaining the siege and blocking humanitarian aid. Hamas also demanded that the mediators and countries guaranteeing the agreement assume their responsibilities and act quickly to contain Israel’s actions.
