The authorization responds to a request made on Thursday (11) by the former president’s defense requesting the “immediate” performance of surgery, due to the worsening of his health problem, and asking doctor Bruno Luís Barbosa Cherulli to enter the PF premises with portable ultrasound equipment to carry out ultrasound examinations of the right and left inguinal (groin) regions.

The analysis must be carried out by Federal Police doctors within a period of up to 15 days. “I order that an official medical examination be carried out, by the Federal Police, within 15 (fifteen) days, to assess the need for immediate surgical intervention highlighted by the defense”, says the minister’s decision.
