Christmas lights they can create a truly unique atmosphere in the interior. They are available in various versions, such as chains, light curtains, traditional light bulbs or LED versions. Regardless of what color or shade we choose, the most important thing is that our lights shine at all. What to do when they break?

It happens that Christmas lights they have simply reached the end of their life and the long-used product should simply be thrown away. However, it is always worth checking first whether they can be repaired. This way we will save money that we would spend on new goods.

Especially older models of lamps, using filament bulbsallowed for easy replacement of individual elements. However, most LED Christmas lights are constructed differently – permanently integrated with the cable and control system. The method of repair or even the point of making such an attempt depends primarily on the type of lights we have at home.

Repairing Christmas lights on older models is rather simple. Usually the problem is a burned out bulb, although larger faults also occur. When repairing Christmas tree lights, it is worth starting by untangling the wires and locating the burned out bulbs. They may be slightly darker than others.

Using sampler (we bring it closer to the bottom of the frame) we check each suspicious lamp or all of them in turn. If it lights up, the light is working. Of course, the cord must then be under tension.

You can also use voltage detectorbringing it closer to the wires coming from the plug. If it detects voltage, we move the equipment further until the voltage disappears. If you find a bulb that doesn’t light up, just replace it.

Older models of Christmas lights are quite easy to repair. Usually, the set even includes spare bulbs. The situation is worse in the case of LED lamps. We can only check the power supply or transformer and then check whether the socket is working. The next step is to check the power cord. Sometimes it can be replaced without having to buy a string of lights.

However, if these actions are unsuccessful, it is not recommended to repair LED lamps yourself. Due to their construction, repair at home may not only be impossible, but also dangerous.
