Corinthians will enter the field soon, at 6pm this Sunday (14), at the Neo Química Arena, to decide a place in the final of the Copa do Brasil against Cruzeiro. The main novelty in the official lineup is the absence of Argentine midfielder Rodrigo Garro among the starters.
The black and white number 10 starts the match on the bench at the option of the technical committee, led by Dorival Júnior. The decision depends directly on the athlete’s physical condition.

Why isn’t Garro playing?
Garro comes from a recovery process from a injury to the soleus muscle of the left calf. Although he has trained with the ball in recent days and shown progress, the medical department and technical committee opted for caution. The understanding is that the midfielder is not yet 100% able to withstand the intensity of the 90 minutes of a decisive semi-final.
For the Argentine’s place, Dorival Júnior chose Breno Bidon. The young midfielder, who has been gaining space with the coach, will play further forward, playing the role of articulator in midfield alongside André Carrillo and José Martínez.
In addition to the physical issue, Garro’s preservation could be strategic for the second half. With a 1-0 victory in the first leg (goal by Memphis Depay), Timão is playing for a draw to advance to the final. Having “fresh” Garro for the final stage, in case the game gets complicated or requires control of possession, is seen as an asset.
