Ambev invests R$1 billion in a glass bottle factory in Paraná

Ambev () opens this Monday (15) a new glass bottle factory in Carambeí (PR). Equipped to produce vessels in the premium segment, the fastest growing in the country, the plant is the result of an investment of R$ 1 billion and makes Paraná the company’s first operation to integrate all phases of beer production.

Initially, the green glass bottle vases used on the Stella Artois labels will be produced at the factory, in the regular and gluten-free version, and the pure Spaten malt. The facilities are prepared, however, to produce up to 600 million bottles of long necks and 600 ml, also including brands such as Corona and Original, as well as zero alcohol versions of beers such as Corona Cero and Bud Zero.

Since 2019, Ambev’s premium portfolio, which includes Corona, Stella Artois and Original, has accumulated growth of 200%. In the third quarter of 2025, the company claimed to have become the leader in this market — as published in the InfoMoney.

Now Paraná is the only place where Ambev has malting, brewery, soft drinks and can factory facilities. “It is a strategic and very important state for Ambev. We have barley fields, factories, distribution centers and thousands of employees in the state who work every day to deliver the best products and services to the people of Paraná”, says Carlos Lisboa, CEO of Ambev.

In addition to the state itself, the plant will supply Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Ceará and Rio de Janeiro, where Ambev’s other glass factory is located.

In the last three years, R$10 billion were invested in Brazil. The new investment in Paraná is part of a total of R$2.5 billion made by Ambev over 13 years. “This investment is a milestone in our history and represents our commitment to strengthening the sector, the economy and the country, serving our consumers even better”, says Carlos Lisboa, CEO of Ambev.

Sustainability initiatives

The Carambeí glass factory is Ambev’s first to operate with 100% renewable electricity. It is prepared to work with biofuels and will use highly energy-efficient furnaces. At least 20% of production will be made with recycled glass, with a capacity of reaching 80%.

According to Ambev, 1,800 jobs have been created in the region since work on the new factory began. In operation, it will create 170 new direct and indirect jobs in the city and its surroundings.
