Fans of the popular series are mourning: the actress († 45) from NCIS died unexpectedly!

Australian actress Rachael Carpani, best known for McLeod’s Daughters and NCIS: Los Angeles, has died at the age of 45. The family announced her death through a statement posted on her sister Georgia’s Instagram, reports .

Carpani died “unexpectedly but peacefully” in the early hours of the morning, according to a statement from parents Tony and Gael Carpani on Sunday, December 7 after a long battle with a chronic illness. The funeral will take place privately on Friday, December 19 with immediate family and friends in attendance. At the same time, the family asked the public to respect privacy and announced that it would not provide further statements.

The family did not specify what illness led to her death. However, in October 2021, the actress spoke publicly about the fact that she suffered from endometriosis and adenomyosis. Although these diseases are not fatal, according to the World Health Organization they can significantly reduce the quality of life, cause serious complications and, without adequate treatment, lead to psychological problems.

Rachael Carpani came to the attention of viewers mainly thanks to the role of Jodi Fountain in the Australian series McLeod’s Daughters, in which she acted from 2001 to 2009. She also appeared in several American projects, among them the films The Rachels and If There Be Thorns or the series The Glades and Against the Wall. She also starred in the 2020 film The Way Back with Ben Affleck and Triangle (2009) alongside Liam Hemsworth.
