An ally of the former president (PL), the federal deputy (PL-SP) claims that the senator’s (PL-RJ) gave gas to the Bolsonarista militancy and changed the electoral board.
The pre-candidate for the Senate for the DF recognizes that, initially, Flávio’s nomination surprised everyone in the PL. “We were hoping that President Bolsonaro’s announcement would happen in February, March,” he says.
“But it was very good that it happened now, because he was being despised. Since he was arrested, I haven’t seen any movement from the parties that say they support him to help his situation or even promote amnesty, which everyone knows was so important to him, the release of political prisoners”, he states.
For Bia Kicis, Flávio’s entry changed the game. “It was a huge surprise to the center parties, who were already almost certain that it would be [o governador de São Paulo] [de Freitas] and possibly [a ex-primeira-dama] [Bolsonaro] vice”, he continues. “But Flávio arrived. It came to the fore in the research,” he says.
The deputy sees engagement from supporters around the senator’s pre-candidacy. “People are disgusted with what is being done to President Bolsonaro, to General [Augusto] Heleno, Braga Netto, Anderson Torres, [Alexandre] Ramagem, so many people”, he states. “So this was a response and it really affected the militancy. It gave gas. Even for the party, it will be great to have 22 as head of the ticket.”
Bia Kicis assesses that Flávio’s pre-candidacy should continue to grow and be viable. “Now, we know that we cannot lose the election. So of course the party, itself, everyone will keep an eye on it to see what happens”, he continues. “But I’m betting that this goes to the end, that Flávio is in the second round and that up front we’ll see who will have the courage to unite with Lula, the person who is destroying Brazil.”
