There’s nothing like a delicious, easy-to-prepare cake with a funny name. That’s exactly what he is Brawler – from the moment I learned the recipe for this dessert, I knew it was something special.
Preparing this cake does not take much time, and the whole family eats it. It will definitely work especially well for people who are not confectionery lovers and just want to serve their loved ones something tasty with coffee or tea.
- 175 g cake flour,
- 2 packages of sugar-free vanilla pudding (2×40 g),
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
- ½ teaspoon of salt,
- 120 g of butter,
- 160 g sugar,
- 3 eggs,
- 1½ teaspoons of almond extract,
- 180 ml of milk,
- 40 g of bitter cocoa,
- 80 ml of hot water.
Bring all ingredients to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 175°C.
Sift flour, pudding powder, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
In a separate bowl, cream the soft butter, sugar, eggs and almond extract until light and fluffy.
Mix the dry products into the egg mixture in batches, alternating with the milk. Mix everything into a smooth dough.
Mix cocoa with hot water until the powder dissolves.
Divide the dough into two parts – one slightly smaller than the other. Add cocoa to the smaller one and mix until combined.
Grease and flour a baking tin measuring approximately 20×20 cm. Place a spoonful of each dough on the bottom, creating a checkerboard pattern. Use about 1/3 of the entire dough in total. In the same way, arrange two more layers of dough so that in the next layer the dark squares of the chessboard are on the light squares and vice versa. When the entire dough is in the form, make 2 zigzags with a knife dipped into it – one between the right and left sides, and the other between the upper and lower sides of the form.
Put the cake in the oven preheated to 180°C. Bake for about 45-55 minutes – until the so-called dry stick.
Cool the baked cake on a rack.
