Lula minimizes friction with Congress and attributes the articulation – 12/15/2025 – Brasília Hoje

The president (PT) minimized the recent friction with Congress and attributed the lack of approval of some management projects in the Legislature to the political articulation of his government. In a speech this Monday (15), the PT member lowered his tone compared to previous public speeches since the recent friction.

“I wanted to tell you that I am very grateful for everything Congress has done for us in these three years of government, both the Chamber and the Chamber”, he declared. “That which was not approved, possibly because [foi porque] We didn’t have the capacity to convince them to approve it.”

Along with this, Lula also pointed to the ideological issue as a barrier to approvals and said again that the overturning of his vetoes to the environmental licensing bill harms farmers, at an event with businesspeople and sector representatives. Without the vetoes, the legislation on environmental rules was made more flexible.

The statements were made during the participation of the president and ministers in the inauguration of the new headquarters of Apex Brasil (Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency), in Brasília.

“I also want to thank Congress for its effort, especially regarding the approved tax reform,” he said.

In his speeches, Lula also cited interest in taking businesswomen to South Korea due to the aesthetic market in the Asian country.

The event marked the opening of 500 new international markets in the period between 2023 and 2025, under the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and with the presence of minister Carlos Fávaro. Along with him, the vice-president and minister of Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, and the minister of Family Agriculture, Paulo Teixeira, also participated.
