The Czech Republic has a new government. On Monday morning, President Petr Pavel swore in the cabinet of the new Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. Its populist party Ano came clearly into first place in the parliamentary election at the beginning of October with 34.5 percent of the vote and then formed a coalition with the far-right party “Freedom and Direct Democracy” (SPD, 7.8 percent) and the right-wing conservative motorists’ party (Motorists, 6.8 percent).
