Reader Patrik had to click it at the Christmas markets in Vienna: Oh, HOW MUCH you pay for a vegan sausage!

Soft lights hanging between the trees, the majestic building of the town hall and dozens of stalls full of Christmas goodies. Rathausplatz is the place where Vienna shows its most beautiful face during Advent. This year too, thousands of people flock here, including a number of Slovaks, who want to switch off for a while and soak up the festive atmosphere in one of the most famous Christmas areas in Austria.

Although a snowy square would add even more charm to the whole sceneVienna can manage without it, and the right Christmas mood will be ensured by the lights, decorations and scents that surround you as soon as you enter.

However, looking at the price lists in the stalls can disturb the romantic idea. While the atmosphere at Rathausplatz is like something cut out of a Christmas card, the prices of punch, food and small delicacies can spoil the initial enthusiasm of some visitors. Despite this, this place remains a mandatory Advent stop for many people.

Our reader Patrik also went to the popular square, and he sent photos of the prizes to the editorial office. In addition to drinking, Christmas markets also include food. You can also find traditional langoustines or sausages in Austrian markets. You pay 5 euros for a classic langoustine with garlic or salt. There is also a sweet variant with cinnamon sugar for the same price.

You can also enjoy langoustines with one sprinkle for 6.50 euros, two for 8 euros or three for 9.50 euros. You can choose from sour cream, cheese, ham, crispy bacon or tomato-pepper sauce.

Today almost everyone enjoys sausages. Vegans will also get their money’s worth, paying 9 euros for an organic sausage. For the same price, you can treat yourself to a classic sausage. Chicken sausage costs 8 euros. You can also choose from the popular Austrian, lightly smoked and boiled sausage filled with pieces of cheese called Käsekrainer for 9 euros. You can also buy a hotdog-style sausage with red or sauerkraut for 12 euros. PHOTO can be found in the gallery.
