Deputies from the São Paulo bench sent a letter to the President of the House (Republicanos-PB) requesting immediate intervention from the Ministry of Na because of those in São Paulo.
The letter was authored by the president of the MDB, Baleia Rossi, from the mayor’s party, who was at the (National Electric Energy Agency) due to last week’s blackout.
Another 23 parliamentarians also signed the document, including the former Secretary of Public Security of SP Guilherme Derrite (PP), names from the PSB, such as , and members of the PL and PT.
In the letter, the parliamentarians state that the request is in line with Nunes and the governor of São Paulo, (Republicans). “Both have taken measures within their respective responsibilities and need to count on more forceful action from the Federal Administration in the case”, they say.
The deputies recall that, in recent days, the population has faced long periods without energy, causing damage to public safety, commerce and the functioning of essential services, “in addition to directly impacting the quality of life of citizens”.
Parliamentarians ask Motta to evaluate the adoption of emergency measures to ensure the immediate normalization of energy supply and the establishment of a procedure to determine the concessionaire’s responsibilities regarding operational failures and the service provided.
They also want corrective and preventive actions to be determined to prevent similar situations from occurring and request the demand for a transparent plan for investments and improvements in the region’s electricity network.
“This request aims to protect the public interest and ensure that the essential electrical energy service is provided with the efficiency, continuity and quality provided for in legislation and regulatory standards”, they indicate.
