The Tarcísio de Freitas (SP) government ignored a bill that has been in progress in the state Legislative Assembly since March
Tarcísio’s project exempts vehicles up to 150 engine capacity from IPVA, which include those used by these workers. It is a nod to a category that has been gaining economic and electoral strength in recent years and should be the theme of next year’s electoral campaign.
The existing project is one that provides a slightly wider scope for the exemption, up to 170 cylinders. According to the parliamentarian, this includes the models most used by delivery people.
“I’m happy that the governor paid attention to this measure, with an important social impact, since this is the most accessible type of motorized transport. Hence its relevance for users in general and especially for the thousands of self-employed workers who use these models”, says the deputy.
