After being eliminated in the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil by Corinthians, Leonardo Jardim decided to leave Cruzeiro. The move should be made official this Monday (15/12) and, from then on, Raposa will make it a priority to hire a new coach to begin planning for the 2026 season.
With Jardim’s imminent departure, a name has been gaining strength behind the scenes: that of coach Tite. The former Brazilian national team coach took a break from his career to rest and take care of his mental health after being fired from Flamengo last year. Cruzeiro’s board sees the former Corinthians as the ideal name to take over the team and a meeting should be held this Monday (15/12).
In recent weeks, he announced that he was available to return to the sidelines. In addition to Tite, Artur Jorge, ex-Botafogo, is also listed at Toca da Raposa.
Pedro Lourenço, Pedro Junio and Joaquim Pinto (executive director) are expected to meet this week to advance negotiations for a new coach.
