Netflix promotes another highly anticipated fight for boxing fans this Friday (12/19). YouTuber Jake Paul will face Olympic champion and two-time unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, in the biggest challenge of his sporting career so far. Streaming broadcasts the card from 10pm.
Jake Paul was supposed to fight Gervonta Davis at the event. However, the fight was canceled following a recent lawsuit against the World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight champion.
At 28 years old, Jake Paul gained fame as a teenager recording comedy videos. The YouTuber completely changed his path and started taking boxing seriously. Among exhibition fights and with other celebrities, he defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by unanimous decision last July, beat Anderson Silva and Mike Tyson, aged 58, by unanimous decision and, since meeting Tommy Fury, a split decision, he has won six fights in a row.
On the other hand, Anthony Joshua hasn’t fought since September 21, 2024, when he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois. At 36 years old, the Brit has 25 knockouts in his career.
