Brenner back in São Paulo: what is known about negotiation?

Brenner de volta ao São Paulo: o que se sabe sobre negociação? image

Amidst a turmoil behind the scenes after reports of an alleged scheme to sell tickets for a presidential box at Morumbis, São Paulo is trying to put together a team for 2026. One possibility of reinforcement that has emerged is an old acquaintance of Tricolor fans.

Brenner, created by Cotia, who played for São Paulo professionally between 2017 and 2020, has an undefined situation abroad and could join Morumbis in 2026. The player was on loan at Cincinnati, in the United States, and returns to Udinese, in Italy, a club with whom he has a contract until 2028.

Sold to the United States in 2021, Brenner stood out in American football, playing 83 games and scoring 33 goals for Cincinnati. In Italy, however, the 25-year-old striker did not do so well, playing just 18 games and scoring just two goals.

The difficulty of adapting in Europe leads the attacker to consider a return to Brazil with good eyes, especially if he receives a proposal from São Paulo. In a recent interview with TNT Sports, the player spoke about the possibility.

— I always follow all São Paulo games, I’m always cheering and cheering from here. If one day I return to Brazil, my priority will be São Paulo. It’s the club that opened doors for me and made me who I am today,” he said.

What could weigh against São Paulo in terms of making Brenner’s return viable is the severe budgetary limitations the club is currently experiencing.
