Hiring follows US$2.1 billion order from the aircraft manufacturer; Registration for the process is open until January 4, 2026
A announced this Monday (Dec 15, 2025) the opening of vacancies for pilots who will operate aircraft of the model planes s by the company and scheduled to join its fleet in the last quarter of 2026.
The E195-E2 is part of a larger order from Latam to which includes 24 firm orders and 50 purchase options for this model – a contract valued at around US$2.1 billionwith deliveries starting in the 2nd half of 2026.
At the time of announcing the contract with Embraer, Latam stated that the operation is in line with the group’s financial policy, which maintains leverage and liquidity metrics. Until the purchase, the company mainly operated Airbus and Boeing planes.
In announcing the purchase, the CEO of the Latam group, stated that the choice for the E195-E2 is due to the efficiency of the model and the possibility of expanding connectivity in the region.
THE VACANCIES
The opportunity includes an attraction bonus paid once, which can reach R$160,000 for captains and R$80,000 for copilots approved in the selection process.
Registration for the process is open until January 4, 2026 and the selected pilots are expected to begin being admitted from February 2026, with training scheduled before the delivery of the first jets.
Requirements for pilots
For commanders, the main requirements include:
- Minimum of 5,000 flight hours on scheduled airlines;
- At least 3,000 hours in jet aircraft;
- 500 hours as PIC on aircraft similar to or larger than the E2;
- Valid certifications (e.g. ICAO level 4 or higher and CMA).
For copilots, requirements include:
- At least 500 total flight hours;
- Commercial Pilot License, IFR ratings and other technical certifications;
- Complete higher education and valid passport, among others.
In addition to the mandatory qualifications, Latam highlights additional benefits such as an American visa and recent jet experience as differentiators.
GOVERNMENT WANTS MORE EMBRAER IN BRAZIL
The president (PT) also this Monday (Dec 15) that airlines in Brazil prioritize the purchase of Embraer planes and stated that Brazil stops creating jobs and technology by opting for foreign companies.
“Do you know who needs to discover the plane in Brazil? The Brazilians. The companies that fly here in Brazil needed to discover Embraer”said Lula during the inauguration of the headquarters of ApexBrasil (Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency), in Brasília.
The minister of Ports and Airports, (Republicanos-PE), stated on Thursday (Dec 11) that the federal government intends to increase the participation of Embraer planes in national aviation from 12% to 20% by the end of the president’s 3rd term.
“Brazilian airlines are experiencing a moment of recovery. Our goal is that in the 4 years of President Lula’s government, we can go from 12% to more than 20% in the use of Embraer planes in national aviation”, said the minister during an investment announcement event at Guarulhos Airport (SP)
