“Nazi president”, says Maduro about Kast and warns about migrants

The dictator of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, criticized the elected president of Chile, José Antonio Kast, on Monday (15), during a government statement, accusing him of being a “Nazi” and warning about possible actions against Venezuelan immigrants residing in Chile.

“Chile is a noble, progressive and beautiful country, but it faces a great challenge because it will have a Pinochetist Nazi president,” Maduro said during the televised interview, referring to Kast.

By stating that Venezuela would not interfere in Chile’s internal affairs, the dictator warned the elected president against the persecution of Venezuelan migrants in Chile. “Venezuelan migrants have rights, and the Chilean Constitution must guarantee them,” he added.

Kast, who faces left-wing candidate Jeannette Jara on Sunday (14), has been on the right wing of Chilean politics for years, with two failed presidential bids under his belt and personal and family support for the Augusto Pinochet dictatorship in his past.

He frequently criticizes crime, immigrants and abortion.

These include building walls, trenches and electric fences along the border and forming a police force similar to ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to detain and expel migrants.

He also promised to expel all undocumented immigrants in the country and encouraged them to leave before he takes office.

Continuing his scathing criticism, Maduro called Kast a “Nazi” and a follower of former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet.

He also criticized , arguing that his administration paved the way for the return of right-wing politics to the country.
