White fabrics, sooner or later, lose their charm. They start to turn gray or yellowbut that doesn’t mean you have to throw them away immediately. If you want to enjoy perfect-looking bedding for a long time, wash them at an appropriate, not too high temperature and do not use too strong detergents.
Additionally, use also thanks to which the fabrics will retain their snow-white color. It involves adding 1 teaspoon of ground pepper to the washing machine. It may sound strange, but it is really effective.
If you add pepper to the wash, your light fabrics will retain their snow-white color. Our grandmothers used this trick, throwing the popular spice into the drum to prevent clothes from fading due to long contact with washing agents.
Don’t worry, the material won’t turn black with pepper. The grains will not stick to it and will not leave a characteristic smellbecause the spice itself will be washed out during the rinsing step. However, remember that the washing temperature should not be too high.
You wonder how to wash with pepper? Just pour 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper into the washing machine drum and then simply place the clothes in it. Remember, however, that you cannot remove the spice.
It probably won’t replace bleach in difficult situations. However, if you are afraid that pepper residue will remain on the fabric, place the spice in a small linen bag.
