Katarzyna Bosacka warns against fish products

Christmas is just around the corner and many people are wandering store aisles looking for products and ingredients for Christmas. Of course, no one can imagine a Christmas Eve supper without fish. Polish homes are dominated by herring, carp and various delicacies prepared based on fish. You can find dozens of fish products and types of fish in stores. Katarzyna Bosacka, a well-known journalist and specialist in healthy eating, decided to take a closer look at them.

How much fish and seafood are there in store pre-made items?

– she wrote under the reel on Instagram. In her recording, Bosacka took a closer look at several fish products that dominate Polish tables during Christmas. The journalist strongly warns against three of them.

What fish should you not buy for Christmas according to Bosacka?

Salmon paste was analyzed first. Bosacka immediately noticed that fish, which should be the main ingredient, only appears in traces.

Rapeseed oil comes first with 23%, and only then comes salmon. Please note that there is less salmon than the above-mentioned oil, so at most 22%. A bit low for a paste made from salmon and not rapeseed oil

– noted the healthy eating expert. Another item not recommended by Katarzyna Bosacka was the popular surimi, often sold under the catchy name “crab”.

The beautiful red crab on the packaging makes your heart swell just looking at it. Of course, it is surimi, which means mechanically separated meat from white fish. (…) There is no crab here at all!

– she announced. The composition of surimi includes, among others: pollock, hake, as well as additives such as E420, E450, E451, E452, sugar, water and hydrated egg white powder.

Don’t buy such herrings. “Strange Ingredients”

At the very end of her analysis, Katarzyna Bosacka left , or more precisely, ready-made herring products, one of the most popular Christmas Eve delicacies among Poles. Many people may have the mistaken belief that they contain a very short and natural composition. It turns out that nothing could be further from the truth.

We have very strange ingredients, because in addition to herring, there is gluconic acid lactone, citric acid, sodium citrates, two preservatives – sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate, and rapeseed and sunflower oil.

– she enumerated in her Instagram video.

Well, he has no idea why they add so much crap to herring

– she added at the end.
