Presidential: Ventura leads a tight podium. Second round is not a mirage for Cotrim

Marques Mendes, André Ventura and Gouveia e Melo

Once again, in a second round scenario, Chega’s president loses against any opponent. Balance reigns.

André Ventura appears in forehead already poll latest regarding the elections presidential.

The survey by CESOP – Universidade Católica Portuguesa for , Antena 1 and Público, published this Monday, presents a new technical draw between Ventura, Luís Marques Mendes and Henrique Gouveia e Melo.

André Ventura leads with 22%, but the podium is tight again: Marques Mendes convinces 20%, Gouveia e Melo gets 18%.

Antonio José Insurance appears shortly afterwards, “peeking” the second lap, with 16%. And this second round is also a hypothesis for João Cotrim of Figueiredo, which brings together 14% voting intentions in this poll.

Far from these numbers are: Catarina Martins and António Filipe (3% each), Jorge Pinto (2%) and Manuel João Vieira (does not reach 1%).

In other words, there is no “unequivocal advantage for any candidate”, as indicated by the Center for Opinion Studies and Surveys (CESOP) itself.

In relation to second round – which seems certain – the survey once again shows that André Ventura loses. Whatever the opponent, the defeat is clear: 29%-66% against Seguro, 25%-68% against Gouveia e Melo, and 26%-69% against Marques Mendes.

If Ventura does not go through to the second round, the result is more balanced, with a greater probability of victory for Mendes Brands. If there were a second round between Seguro and Gouveia e Melo, the former PS general secretary would win.
