Not everyone has the time or inclination to bake classic cakes for many hours. Fortunately, there are recipes that allow you to prepare an elegant dessert without stress and long standing in the kitchen.
This recipe is based on simple, easily available products that we often already have at home. Thanks to this, the preparation of the dessert is quick and the effect is truly impressive. Ingredients for Napoleon in a quarter of an hour:
- ½ liter of milk,
- 1 package of vanilla sugar,
- 1 package of ready-made puff pastry,
- 2 tablespoons of potato flour,
- 2 yolks,
- 200 g of butter,
- 80 g of sugar.
As you can see, the list is neither long nor complicated. It is the simplicity that makes this version of Napoleon so often a saving grace for Christmas and family gatherings you’ll make it really quickly.

Divide the puff pastry into two equal sheets, place them on baking trays and bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius for about 10 minutesuntil golden and crispy. Set aside to cool completely.
Meanwhile, prepare the cream. Heat one glass of milk with sugar and vanilla sugar. In the second one mix milk with yolks and potato flourthen pour into the hot milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Cover the pudding with foil and set aside to cool. When it’s cool, gradually add soft buttermixing until smooth and fluffy cream.

Spread the prepared cream on one sheet of cake, cover it with the other and press gently. It is best to cool the dessert in the fridge, although the “ready” version tastes just as good. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving and cut into large pieces – your guests will be delighted after the first bite.
