The First Panel of the (Supreme Federal Court) resumes, this Tuesday (16), the trial of members of the government () who had strategic positions and, according to the PGR (Attorney General’s Office), articulated measures to enable a coup d’état.
It is within this group that the Supreme Court judges the issue of the second round of the 2022 elections. Initially, investigations into this issue were carried out separately by the Federal Police, but the PGR decided to add the accusation to the main action regarding the attempted coup.
The ministers will also give a conclusion regarding , former advisor for International Affairs to the Presidency. The trip is marked by contradictory versions and was used by the defense and allies of the former president to contest the process.
In addition to Martins, those accused of the so-called second nucleus of the coup plot are Silvinei Vasques (former general director of the Federal Highway Police), Fernando de Souza Oliveira (former member of the Ministry of Justice), Marcelo Costa Câmara (former advisor to the Presidency), Marília Ferreira (former member of the Ministry of Justice) and Mário Fernandes (former executive secretary of the General Secretariat of the Presidency).
