Add 10 drops, beat until stiff and rub into the dirty sofa. It will remove stains and odors
Pre-Christmas cleaning often encourages us to thoroughly clean the space in our home. We want everything to sparkle and smell clean. Then we often notice a dirty couch. Stains and the stale smell of upholstery can be a real nuisance when everything around us is shiny. And what if you don’t have a vacuum cleaner at hand and professional companies have a full schedule? This one will help here. You can prepare it from ingredients you have at home, it costs about PLN 10, and it will easily remove stains from the upholstery and refresh it without strong detergents. Pour 3 liters of warm water into a bowl, add 10 drops of dishwashing liquid, 2 tablespoons of baking soda and beat vigorously with a whisk until a lot of foam is formed. Apply the foam to the upholstery and gently rub it into it. Then wipe the couch with a damp cloth to remove any remaining detergent. When the sofa dries, it will look like new.
How to remove difficult stains from the sofa?
If, for example, wine, coffee or tomatoes stain your skin, remember that you can also get rid of it using home tricks. If soap and water do not work, use a 1:1 solution of vinegar and water. Dampen a cloth in it and rub the dirty area on the upholstery. A solution of citric acid and water will be equally effective. Add a teaspoon of acid to the water and rub it on the stain. If you notice greasy stains on the upholstery, sprinkle them with potato flour and leave for 30 minutes. The flour will absorb the fat and the stain will disappear.
Dry washing the sofa will remove unpleasant odors
Of course, before washing the sofa, you should vacuum it thoroughly to get rid of food remains and dust. If the upholstery smells bad, it is a good idea to sprinkle its surface with baking soda, rub it in with a brush and leave it for 3 hours. After this time, vacuum the soda, which perfectly absorbs all unpleasant odors and makes the fabric smell fresh.
