American Norma Edwards (80) claims that she died twice and crossed over to the other side. Now she’s sharing what she says she learned from being on the brink of death. During these moments, she experienced encounters with “beings of light” who were to reveal to her that life continues even after physical death. Today, she works as a spiritual therapist and sees her experiences as a mission to help others get rid of the fear of death, writes the portal
She first found herself on the verge of death in 1971, when she was 26 years old. She collapsed in London due to undiagnosed pregnancy and serious complications. During emergency surgery, her heart stopped. At that moment, Edwards claims she left her body and walked through a dark tunnel into a bright light. She saw colored bands that she had not known before, and a screen on which her planned and real life was projected. According to her, she discovered that she had not fulfilled her original mission.
In the next phase, she was to meet deceased relatives, including her aunt, who informed her that she must return with the message that “life does not end with death, it only changes.” He describes the return to the body as extremely painful and accompanied by a heightened perception of reality. The experience led her to a spiritual path. She graduated, became a chaplain and worked in prisons for 27 years, where she provided spiritual and therapeutic support to convicts.
She had the second experience in November 2024, when she suffered a cardiac arrest at home in Maryland. She claims she felt the familiar “pull to the other side” again, but was revived before she got there. According to her own words, this time too she should have received the same message – that her task is to help people get rid of the fear of death and perceive it as a transition.
“The soul doesn’t die. You just step out of the body into something bigger.” says Edwards. Although she is still grieving the loss of her child, she says she has found meaning in life in helping others. “As long as we breathe, we have a gift. And when the time comes, we don’t end – we expand.” adds.
