TV presenter Andrea McLean, 56, has spoken openly about how she was just 24 hours away from death last December after experiencing flu-like symptoms. writes the portal. For about a week, she had high fevers, chills and chest discomfort. At that time, she also noticed that her urine had turned a dark brown color.
The situation worsened dramatically when she collapsed in her bathroom. She spent about an hour on the floor before her husband found her. They called the general practitioner, who ordered them to call an ambulance immediately. After being taken to the hospital, the presenter was diagnosed with severe pneumonia, kidney failure and sepsis.
“It went downhill, kind of gradually, and then suddenly all at once. They told me, Nick actually – they didn’t tell me, I wasn’t in a position to perceive it – that if we had waited another 24 hours, I would not have survived,” she confided in the show Loose Women. Andrea then spent three months alternating between hospital and home. She took a lot of very strong drugs and underwent one examination after another. “One part of my lungs stopped working at 80 percent. Finally, in March of this year, I was discharged completely cured.“ she confided.
What are the warning signs of sepsis?
